Messaging Terms

Begonia · last updated 28 August 2026

Begonia is software that childcare centers use to run their day. One of the things it does is send text messages to the parents and guardians of enrolled children, and to the center's own staff. This page describes that messaging program: who sends it, what it contains, how often it arrives, and how to stop it.

The short version. Messages come from the childcare center your child attends, not from Begonia as a company. Reply STOP to any message to end them. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. We never sell your phone number, and we never use it for advertising.

Who is sending

Messages are sent by the childcare center that enrolled your child, using Begonia to send them. Each center registers its own phone number. The center is responsible for what it sends; Begonia provides the software and keeps the record.

The center operating this messaging program is:

River Meadow, LLC, doing business as River Meadow Daycare
325 Rolling Hill Road, Mooresville, NC
980-788-2273
Management@Rivermeadowdaycare.com

What gets sent

KindExampleHow often
Day to day about your child Pickup reminders, a note that your child was sent home, a photo or update from the room A few a week, and only about children you are listed as a guardian for
Urgent and safety Early closing, weather, a facility problem, an incident involving your child Rare, and sent whenever it is needed
Billing Tuition due, a payment that did not go through, a receipt Weekly at most, tied to your billing cycle
Center news Closures, events, forms that need signing, enrollment paperwork A few a month
Staff scheduling Shift reminders, coverage requests, clock-in corrections. Employees only. A few a week during working weeks

Message frequency varies, because it depends on your child, your billing cycle, and what happens at the center. There is no fixed number per month.

How you came to be on the list

You gave the center your mobile number, and agreed to be texted at it, in one of these ways:

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of enrollment, of purchasing anything, or of employment. If you would rather not be texted, say so and the center will use phone or email instead.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message from the center. You will get one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and then nothing further. This works at any time and costs nothing.

You can also ask the center directly, in person, by phone or by email, and they will switch your contact preference off.

Reply START or UNSTOP to begin receiving messages again.

Stopping text messages does not stop the center from reaching you another way about something urgent involving your child. If your child is injured or ill, the center will call you. That is a licensing obligation and it is not something an opt-out can switch off.

Getting help

Reply HELP to any message and you will get a reply with the center's name and phone number. For anything the reply does not answer, call 980-788-2273 or email Management@Rivermeadowdaycare.com.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. The center does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Ask your carrier if you are unsure.

Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, and a text message should never be relied on as the only way you would learn about something urgent.

Supported carriers

Messages are supported on the major United States carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and the smaller carriers and resellers that run on their networks. Coverage can change; carriers are not required to support every message type.

Your phone number

The center holds your number to contact you about your child, your billing, and the center's operation. It is not sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing, and it is not used for advertising. It is shared with the messaging provider that carries the message, and with nobody else except where the law requires it.

Changes

If this messaging program changes in a way that affects what you receive, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
